1. About KidSpark

KidSpark ("we", "us", "our") is an educational gaming platform designed for children aged 4–10. Accounts are created and managed by parents or guardians. We are committed to protecting the privacy of children and their families.

2. Who Creates Accounts

KidSpark accounts are created exclusively by parents or guardians aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly allow children under 13 to create their own accounts or submit personal data without verifiable parental consent. If we discover that a child under 13 has created an account without parental consent, we will delete it promptly.

3. What Data We Collect

  • Account information: Parent/guardian name, email address, and password (stored securely via Firebase Authentication).
  • Game progress: Scores, stars, badges, streaks, game history, and CBSE curriculum chapter progress — used solely to personalise and improve the learning experience.
  • Device & usage data: Browser type, device type, and anonymous usage analytics collected automatically by Firebase Analytics.
  • Payment data: Processed entirely by our payment provider (Razorpay). We never store card numbers or banking details on our servers.

4. How We Use Your Data

  • To save and display game progress, scores, and achievements.
  • To operate the leaderboard (displays your chosen display name and score).
  • To process subscription payments and manage your account.
  • To improve the platform based on anonymous, aggregated usage patterns.

We do not use your data for behavioural advertising. We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

We retain account data for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account at any time from the Profile page, which permanently removes all associated data from our systems.

7. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

KidSpark complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We do not collect personal information directly from children. All data is associated with the parent or guardian's account. Parents may review, update, or delete their account data at any time by visiting the Profile page or contacting us.

If you are located in the European Union or United Kingdom, you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise these rights, contact us at the email below.

9. India — Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 (DPDP Act)

KidSpark complies with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (India). As a Data Fiduciary, we collect and process personal data only for the purposes described in this policy, with your free, specific, informed, and unambiguous consent obtained at the time of account creation.

  • Significant Data Fiduciary — Children's Data: KidSpark processes data of children (through parent/guardian accounts) and takes additional precautions. We do not process children's personal data for tracking, behavioural monitoring, or targeted advertising.
  • Right to Access: You may request a summary of personal data we hold about you by contacting our Grievance Officer.
  • Right to Correction & Erasure: You may correct inaccurate data or request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time via the Profile page or by contacting us.
  • Right to Withdraw Consent: You may withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect processing already done. Account deactivation is available from the Profile page.
  • Data Breach Notification: In the event of a personal data breach, we will notify affected users and the Data Protection Board of India as required by the DPDP Act.
  • Data Localisation: Our primary data processor (Firebase/Google) may store data on servers outside India. By creating an account, you consent to cross-border transfer of your data to Google's servers in accordance with applicable law.

10. Grievance Redressal (IT Rules 2021 & Consumer Protection Act 2019)

In accordance with the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, and the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020, KidSpark has appointed a Grievance Officer:

  • Response time: Complaints will be acknowledged within 24 hours and resolved within 15 days of receipt.

You may raise a complaint regarding any content, data handling, or service issue by emailing the Grievance Officer with your registered email address and a description of your concern.

11. Recurring Payments — RBI Guidelines

KidSpark subscription payments are processed by Razorpay in compliance with Reserve Bank of India (RBI) guidelines on recurring transactions. You will receive a pre-debit notification before each renewal. You may cancel your subscription at any time from the Profile page, which will stop all future auto-debits. We use industry-standard security measures including Firebase's encrypted authentication, Firestore security rules, and HMAC-verified payment processing to protect your data. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of KidSpark after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
